Normal...what's that?

Thursday, May 30th
Truth be told, I am very thankful that Friday comes in the morning.
Yes, it is my birthday, but more so because we have survived week one in 900 sq. ft. with a wee bit of sanity remaining.
Living in a constant state of tight corners takes its toll on a person. I personally am thankful for God granting us grace through these days. They linger ahead for a time and we are all longing for a bit of home sweet home again.
In the afternoon hours today, we went to our new library. It is really our old library, but the boys were only 2 and 3 when we relocated across town and to a new library. There were a few moments of wavering faith in this new adventure. The boys loved the Central Library.
Thankfully, it did not take long to find their favorite authors and discover even more books at this library than at Central. Nothing like a good book to make a day better!
We were also thankful for the puzzle section in the library. The hours flew by once we sat down and began to put one together. To have a normal activity in the midst of our not so ordinary days was such a gift!   Add in a few hands of Uno, and you have a grand afternoon!
Said goodbye to my sister and one niece and nephew today. So wonderful to have them for a visit!
I leave for Alaska in one week! So excited!!! God is good!

    1. Sarah, you and your house have been a source of encouragement and a bit of a reality check for me as I was preparing to live in the cabin. I kept telling myself that you had 5 people in your house and you all make it work well for everyday living...surely I can do this for a couple of weeks. :) You are truly a wonderful mom and great wife, not to mention a great friend! :)

    1. Looking back at these past weeks of May, I know without a doubt that God prompted me to blog the gifts of each day of my birthday month (today is my birthday) so that I would be intentionally looking for the good in each day. Some days were difficlut, but I found the gifts of each one and was not letting the stress or uncomfortable situations get to me so much that I did not see the good in their midst. Praise belongs to God for His goodness! Love and hugs from GA!

#TransformationTuesday

"But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer."  Psalm 66:19 As one who has struggled with weight all of my life, seeing the ups and downs in jean sizes became my reality.  I would lose some pounds only to face a stressor in life and see them return and bring friends along for the ride.  I spent years believing lies, yet secretly hoping for a better reality.  Lies that I am not capable of overcoming my sweet tooth and that I am just not the workout type, topped the list.  I have never really lacked self esteem or self confidence; I know who I am.  However, I know from personal experience, others define me by what they first see.  Having been a plus-size lady for years, I was treated differently, intentionally or not, when I dropped pounds. My health journey to where I am today began back in 2010. It is amazing that things do not happen accidentally, even if they seem to in the beginning. Actually, as the pieces of my story have come together, this story begins w

3 in 30 Check In: Minor Technicalities

Having a great month...getting things accomplished and finding myself excited that the newness of 2011 hasn't worn off yet is so awesome. Closets are all cleaned out but mine...getting to the last one of six feels great and I cannot wait to rummage through it. As for making it to the Y three times...thanks to our ice and a minor back injury , that hasn't happened, but I have a chance tomorrow and Saturday to make it there at least twice this week.  So looking forward to it, even if I walk a little funny getting there. And, there are plans in the making of a new endeavor for me to use a newly acquired skill to bless others.  Baby steps of hope in the right direction. And, I've had a chance to think ahead to next month's goals...can't wait!  Thank you, God, for a wonderful week!
