My Saturday in a Nutshell...

This is the first year since I began blogging in 2009 that I have totally missed posting during an entire month. What happened?  June happened.  And it was awesome...God directed...and totally on the go.  Someday I hope to catch up on posts with June's grand adventures, but today is about yesterday.
It can be summed up pretty well with a few words and a few more pics.
Early morning Walmart run to prepare for a new week...newness with the workout/healthy eating routine begins Monday.
Office runs...Atlanta and Byron. Business is going strong. God is good.
Me time: long overdue pedi for this gal while Scott was busy at the office.
Drive to and from Byron = traffic jams
Evening spent at Piedmont Park at the Atlanta Street Food Festival.
Once home, sat down to shell out freshly picked pecans from yesterday, which happens to be National Pecan Pie Day.
Which is why the final deed of my Saturday was baking a pecan pie with those newly shelled pecans.

home of the Braves

As a metro Atlanta resident, it seems almost a requirement to go to a Braves game to continue living here.  I grew up watching baseball and loving the game...and have been to a few games in St. Louis, Cincinnati, Detroit...and of course, Atlanta.  The problem for me going to a Braves game is purely mental...having been a Mets and Cardinals fan for years, I just haven't the love necessary for the Braves to call me a fan. However, as with many things in life that I haven't particularly enjoyed over the years, my boys make it so worth my time and heart.  I go watch the Braves because I love my boys...and my boys and I love baseball.  Well, they love what they know of the game...still in training, but getting the hang of the lingo and SOP's of a baseball fan rather well. There are a few things that remain the same from stadium to stadium..."the wave" (Braves' attendees do not always get into this, which is very di...

3 in 30: March Week 2

I'm halfway there! March goal update... Get to bed by 11pm every night...success again this week!  Praise God for His help and thank you for the encouraging comments.  It was close one night, but I squeaked by with a bedtime of 10:58.  Totally paid for it the following day, too...so tired!  It didn't help that it was pouring rain outside and that always encourages a nap.  I didn't give in to that lovely thought, though, beacause it would have thrown off my bedtime. Make it to my ladies' Bible study every Monday...made it on time and even remembered I had volunteered to bring the snack in time to make homemade blueberry bars!  They were yummy, if I do say so myself. :) Focus on part one of a multi-part goal to become a better Proverbs 31 woman. This week's verse to work on..."She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants."...Yes, I did do this again and am really enjoying my time at the Y in t...
