3 in 30: {week 5}

"You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
Praise be to God!"
Psalm 68:35

April's goals...
Write and mail someone a letter/card each week.
I've enjoyed this so much, I'm thankful to have more cards left to keep on writing more next month, too.  You never know who'll be next...
Make a new recipe at least once a week.
On the menu tonight will be a new dish...most likely it will be baked pork chops.  They sound great!  I also have some cream cheese that needs to be used, so I'm looking for some new cheesecake something or other.  I always have my favorite recipe if nothing else catches my attention.
Part 2 of Proverbs 31...verses 17 & 27
"She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks...She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."
As in the words of Paul...
"We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin."
Romans 7:14-25
Yeah, that about sums up my week...somewhat slow to get things done although in my heart I wanted to own each moment and get more done each day.  Coming back from vacation is always a hard one for me and this week was no different...BUT on a good note, once home, everything was unpacked from the car that night and put away and most things were taken out of the suitcases.  Most things...there's always today and tomorrow and Saturday yet to end April in a "Get-R-Done"  kind of way. :)

  1. It is hard to get back into the swing of things after being gone. I love the idea of writing to someone each week. Very sweet!

  2. I used to have a ministry of card and letter writing. It seems I have switched to email, and facebook notes over the last couple of years. But I do miss the snail mail method sometimes.

    I try to send cards on special occassions. And enjoy receiving them at times too. I think it is great that you have been doing this.

    Blessings!

  3. Hi Janet Rose! Congrats on doing so well with your goals.

    I know how hard it can be to get back into the swing of things, but even with that, you unpacked. That's half the battle! :)

  6. Coming home from a vacation is always a bit difficult. It usually takes me at least 2 solid days to get back to "normal" with household tasks. Way to stay on top of your goals this month!

#TransformationTuesday

"But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer."  Psalm 66:19 As one who has struggled with weight all of my life, seeing the ups and downs in jean sizes became my reality.  I would lose some pounds only to face a stressor in life and see them return and bring friends along for the ride.  I spent years believing lies, yet secretly hoping for a better reality.  Lies that I am not capable of overcoming my sweet tooth and that I am just not the workout type, topped the list.  I have never really lacked self esteem or self confidence; I know who I am.  However, I know from personal experience, others define me by what they first see.  Having been a plus-size lady for years, I was treated differently, intentionally or not, when I dropped pounds. My health journey to where I am today began back in 2010. It is amazing that things do not happen accidentally, even if they seem to in the beginning. Actually, as the pieces of my story have come together, this story begins w

My word for 2018.  Anchored. To keep from drifting. Representative of stability and strength. Connected. Held.  Grounded.  Positioned.  Fixed. Movable. Small, yet, essential part of a bigger entity. It is a standard by which to live; a goal for which to strive. Anchored.
