L.E.N.S photo challenge: pattern

Debated on several photos for the "pattern" challenge this week.
This one won out over them all because I simply love the whimsical moose pattern found on each plate at Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria
It's a favorite when in Anchorage...best pizza ever and fresh brewed cream soda (plus the moose patterned plates) makes for a great eating experience!

Other patterns in this week's challenge can be found over at Home Is Where You Start From.

  1. Nothing says Alaska like Moose! I lived their 14 years. Thanks for the plate picture, it gives me warm Alaskan memories when I usually think of the cold!

  2. ah, very cute! I have a soft spot for moose, my oldest dd was terrified of them at about age 3- but didn't know what they were! Once she was persuaded they were not bad or scary, we bought her a blanket and sweater and toys with moose!

thanks for joining the challenge! :)

it's not about me

I reminded myself of this recently. It's not about me at all, this wellness journey I am on to a healhier version of myself. Not at all. Never has been, really. It is about the people who invest in me. My husband. My boys. My family. My friends. They all share themselves with me. I have come to realize that those that take precious time to invest in me deserve better from me. I need to adhere to the direction given on any flight I've ever been on that goes something like this: make sure your own oxygen mask is properly secured before helping others. If I don't take care of myself first, my ability to care for others effectively diminishes quickly. My choosing clean eating, drinking enough water, and exercising on a daily basis is how I put on my mask first. Am I perfect at meetin...

home of the Braves

As a metro Atlanta resident, it seems almost a requirement to go to a Braves game to continue living here.  I grew up watching baseball and loving the game...and have been to a few games in St. Louis, Cincinnati, Detroit...and of course, Atlanta.  The problem for me going to a Braves game is purely mental...having been a Mets and Cardinals fan for years, I just haven't the love necessary for the Braves to call me a fan. However, as with many things in life that I haven't particularly enjoyed over the years, my boys make it so worth my time and heart.  I go watch the Braves because I love my boys...and my boys and I love baseball.  Well, they love what they know of the game...still in training, but getting the hang of the lingo and SOP's of a baseball fan rather well. There are a few things that remain the same from stadium to stadium..."the wave" (Braves' attendees do not always get into this, which is very di...
