Introducing....Spikey, the Butterfly

We have been watching the chrysalis everyday since Spikey, the Caterpillar, transformed into what looked like a dead leaf.
This afternoon, Tim came running to where I was resting on the recliner (due to bronchitis and a sinus infection this week) and was so excited.
"Everybody come look!  We have hatched a butterfly!" he exclaimed.
Alex and I joined Tim in the kitchen and there before us was now, Spikey, the Butterfly.
He is simply beautiful and we haven't even seen him open his wings yet and show off his colors.  So looking forward to tomorrow morning when we are able to let him go.
It might be a little sad, though, too...
Freedom is best, though...even when it's painful to let go.
When I saw Spikey in his new form tears welled up in my eyes and I silently whispered a prayer of thanks to God for allowing the emergence of this butterfly.  He gave us a beautiful gift in this butterfly.
Sometimes, it's all about the little things that make a day better for everyone.

As for the memory blankets...Alex's has been fitted with his back flannel piece, fitted with batting, and tied with yarn at each block corner.  Just this afternoon I was able to begin the edging.  We are well on our way to having one completely finished and I am thankful for something to do while resting in order to recover from this awful sickness.

  1. Janet Rose...I pray you will get well soon. It is good that you have something to work quietly on from your recliner while you rest.

The butterfly is lovely...and isn't it just so amazing how God does the transformation?!!!

Yes..it reminds me of how He changes us when we accept Him into our hearts and lives!

    Happy Saturday!

    Love, Linda

#TransformationTuesday

"But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer."  Psalm 66:19 As one who has struggled with weight all of my life, seeing the ups and downs in jean sizes became my reality.  I would lose some pounds only to face a stressor in life and see them return and bring friends along for the ride.  I spent years believing lies, yet secretly hoping for a better reality.  Lies that I am not capable of overcoming my sweet tooth and that I am just not the workout type, topped the list.  I have never really lacked self esteem or self confidence; I know who I am.  However, I know from personal experience, others define me by what they first see.  Having been a plus-size lady for years, I was treated differently, intentionally or not, when I dropped pounds. My health journey to where I am today began back in 2010. It is amazing that things do not happen accidentally, even if they seem to in the beginning. Actually, as the pieces of my story have come together, this story begins w

My word for 2018.  Anchored. To keep from drifting. Representative of stability and strength. Connected. Held.  Grounded.  Positioned.  Fixed. Movable. Small, yet, essential part of a bigger entity. It is a standard by which to live; a goal for which to strive. Anchored.
