only Jesus

Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven
given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:11-12
Two ministries that are near and dear to my heart are about to begin their summer outreach programs.  The last week in May, God's Word is going to begin to be poured into the hearts and minds of children and adults alike across the US for the summer months.
What I love about both ministries is that the name of Jesus is spoken...is called upon...is praised!  Be involved with either (or both) ministries and you will experience Jesus in a way like never before in your life.  An true encounter with Jesus will ruin life as you know it.  Then as you experience Jesus, you'll be thankful it did!  Others will see the difference, too...and want it for themselves.
But only when it's Jesus they see.
If it's anything but Jesus, it will wear off and people will wander away empty and still lost.
I am encouraged by what I read in Acts today.
I am convicted by what I read in Acts today.
What Jesus does makes the difference in peoples' lives.  It's all about Him.
How well I reflect His light is dependent upon how much time I spend with Him each day.  And, each day I could always do better.
My gift today is the blessing of being given the opportunity to be involved with two Christ centered ministries over the past several years.  I do not know why He chose me to be involved, but I am so grateful He did!
My prayer is that people will want a personal relationship with Christ as they see Him in those of us serving in His name.
God is so good!
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:13

home of the Braves

As a metro Atlanta resident, it seems almost a requirement to go to a Braves game to continue living here.  I grew up watching baseball and loving the game...and have been to a few games in St. Louis, Cincinnati, Detroit...and of course, Atlanta.  The problem for me going to a Braves game is purely mental...having been a Mets and Cardinals fan for years, I just haven't the love necessary for the Braves to call me a fan. However, as with many things in life that I haven't particularly enjoyed over the years, my boys make it so worth my time and heart.  I go watch the Braves because I love my boys...and my boys and I love baseball.  Well, they love what they know of the game...still in training, but getting the hang of the lingo and SOP's of a baseball fan rather well. There are a few things that remain the same from stadium to stadium..."the wave" (Braves' attendees do not always get into this, which is very di...

Wednesday's Walk...Janis Lynn

In searching for a photo from my senior year in college, I was bombarded with sweet, sweet memories of one of my closest college friends....Janis Lynn MacLeish.  I met Janis in the fall of 1993 when she came to Taylor University Fort Wayne.  She was in my wing of Lexington Hall.  Although, I was her RA, Janis taught me so much about life and living in a very short time that I often felt she did a better job leading than I ever could.  Life was never the same for me after she and I became friends.  It was oh, so much better!  The room brightened when Janis finally awoke and entered through the door of one.  She befriended the likes of anyone and made no enemies...except for the girls who were jealous of her for one reason or another.  Her laughter echoed throughout the halls everyday.  One knew when Janis was away for the weekend for it was creepily quiet on campus. Janis ...
